Every day is Earth day 🤍 I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting the Boerne chapter of the Native plant society of Texas @npsot this weekend. Ever since moving to the hill country I have fallen in love with the native plants that survive such harsh conditions like drought and heat. The more I learn the more I realize how crucial these plants are to our global ecosystem. It’s hard to watch developers mow down hundred year old oaks and rip away at the earth to plant non-native grasses with HOAs that promote green grass lawns giving native plants no chance to seed and succeed. I am still on a native plant journey but let me tell you, they are so much easier to keep alive once you have them established. I urge you- especially Texas residents- to consider the benefits of native plants to our migratory butterflies and our aquifers that are being bled dry for golf courses and front lawns. Look around, explore nature, and consider what you can do for our wonderful Mother Earth today and every day. 🤍

Two weeks in Australia enjoying family time and soaking in all the natural wonders while still finding some creative outlets along the way. I’d say this is a recipe for perfection. 2024 so far… we’re off to Australia for two weeks and I couldn’t help reflecting on it all. It’s taken a while to find the balance between raising a child and pursuing my art, but I do feel like I’m figuring it out, all while giving myself grace and enjoying the process. I have been so overwhelmingly inspired of recent and I have some really special things coming up this year so please stay tuned and feel free to reach out if you’re curious.

This new body of work I’m pursuing is about being grounded in this space where my studio resides. Finding inspiration from the seasons, the land, and the animals and plants that call it home. It’s my love letter to the Texas hill country and I just can’t wait to share all the things.
